• Hello Holland Patent,

I know that you don’t want to be doing homework all the time. It's tedious and at times can seem boring. So here are some tips and tricks to help you be more productive during the day so you can get that work done and get to doing what you want to do. One way you could increase your productivity is using Google Shortcuts. Google Shortcuts are little commands you can do that will make your computer do certain things more quickly. A common one that everyone knows is Ctrl+V, which pastes. Or its counterpart, Ctrl+C, which copies what you have highlighted. But there are some more shortcuts that will keep your writing smooth.

    • Ctrl+B: Bolds the highlighted text
    • Ctrl+X: Copies then deletes the highlighted text
    • Ctrl+Z: Undo
    • Ctrl+Y: Redo
    • Ctrl+T: Create tab
    • Ctrl+W: Delete tab
    • Ctrl+I: Italicize the highlighted text
    • Ctrl+U: Underline the highlighted text
    • Ctrl+Shift+.: Increase the size of the highlighted text
    • Ctrl+Shift+,: Decrease the size of the highlighted text
    • Ctrl+G: Find
    • Ctrl+H: Find and Replace
    • Ctrl+Arrows: next word
    • Shift+Arrows: Highlight Text
    • Ctrl+Shift+Arrows: Highlight the words
    • Ctrl+P: Print
    • Ctrl+Tab: Next tab to the right
    • Ctrl+Shift+Tab: Next tab to the left

Those are just a few that are most commonly used on a day to day basis. (Note: there are more that are not listed, they are just more obscure and not used too often.) I hope these commands help you with getting your papers done faster. If you have any questions that you want answered there will be an anonymous question drop box set up in the library, so I can give advice on more relevant topics.
